Weathered Boulder at Dusk, White Mountains
I love how automated focus stacking can make impossible-depth-of-field images, even if I must shoot an infinity focus frame* due to broken Fujifilm firmware for Focus BKT (broken for 5+ years and counting, Fujifilm are you lazy or incompetent or clueless or cognitively blind, which is it as there are no other options).
Shot using the Focus BKT feature*. Stacked 22 frames using Zerene Stacker. No retouching.
Detail across the frame is incredibly consistent and of very high sharpness—that Fujifilm GF 55mm f/1.7 is absolutely the best lens of the lineup anywhere near its focal length, prime or zoom.
Shot at f/6.4, micro contrast rocks vs f/8 or f/9, but it does require more frames.
I like rock shots like this. They convey a great deal of environmental information when shot in their surrounding environment like this.
Detail level delivered by the Fujifilm GF 55mm f/1.7 on the 100MP Fujifilm GFX100 II sensor is fabulous—and right into the extreme corners. This might be the finest most detailed capture available on any platform. Even the PhaseOne IQ4 150 would be hard pressed to do so, due to lens limitations.
* As always, the INF frame I shot was sharper than the last from shot made by the incompetent camera. I now just make it a tedious but essential habit when doing focus stacked images.
