Nikon D850: AF Fine Tune Using Live View
See my Nikon wish list and get Nikon D850 at B&H Photo.
I am often shooting in dim lighting (dusk in particular), so this got my attention, the metering. Even the autofocus can be helpful because Live View can become quite grainy on the D810, making manual focus difficult. Good metering in dim light can be very useful, because at dusk the lighting is changing continually.
Simplified adjustment for more accurate focus — Auto AF fine-tune for viewfinder shooting
Accurate AF is crucial to take full advantage of the D850’s high pixel count. To ensure focusing accuracy, the D850’s auto AF fine-tune makes subtle adjustments for each type of lens you use. The simplified process involves achieving focus in live view and letting the camera automatically acquire, then store, the AF tuning value.
Sounds great! I’m not a huge fan of AF fine tune since precision (scientific meaning) is usually the problem, but it increases the accuracy (reduces the average deviation from correct value).
Why Nikon publishes blurry hardly readable screen shots in the brochure, I dunno.
