Stalwart: Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2 Distagon (morning at Lundy Lake)

The Sony A7R II + Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2 Distagon is just such an easy-going combo. Fast and easy to shoot (autofocus really useful)—the perfect combination for hiking and similar where it just gets tedious to manually focus, and where a DSLR is heavy and the good lenses are mostly manual focus. See in-depth reviews of Sony and Batis in Guide to Mirrorless.
Here are some early morning images from the Lundy Lake / Lundy Canyon area.
I polarized the sky a bit hoping to tone it down. The results show that polarization at 21mm is problematic.
The Lundy reservoir has been drawn down for winter, but it was already very low in the middle of summer. Fortunately the drainage benefits from many small but consistent flows.
Strong winds meant trouble photographing in the morning, so I went and caught and released fifteen brook trout, then picked up photography after lunch. The winds portend a real winter storm, with fast-moving clouds showing up around evening.
Mid-afternoon—this just does not look natural. Elsewhere there is pink stuff. Maybe it grows from rotting matter in the beaver pond? It should not be like this at 8000' elevation. But Lundy Creek seems to have some yucky growth which may be an invasive species that kills off trout and other things.
