Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8M: Exploring the Classic 4 X 5 Aspect Ratio on Full Frame
Get Zeiss Touit 50mm at B&H Photo.
The Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8M is nominally an APS-C lens; it does not “cover” a full frame sensor. But it offers an image circle large enough that other aspect ratios are substantially larger than APS-C (on a full frame sensor) and with high quality.
The classic view camera 4 X 5 aspect ratio worked well for this scene. Shot on the Sony A7R at full frame and cropped to 27 megapixels.
Aperture Series: Flowing Water, Wet Dark Rocks, Green Grass
Includes HD and UltraHD images along with crops from f/2.8 to f/16.
I like shooting similar subject matter with several cameras because it yields a working perspective on each in terms of operational characteristics and image quality. Comments include my impressions vs the 80MP Hy6 Mod2 from making a 16-inch print.
